The President of the Republic received officials of TOTAL<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, who is paying a working visit to Paris, received last night the CEO of TOTAL, Mr Patrick Pouyanne, and the Vice President of the Division of North Africa and Middle East Mr Elias Kassis, in the presence of the Government Spokesman, Mr Nikos Christodoulides.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After the meeting Mr Pouyanne told reporters that following TOTAL\u2019s recent drill during the summer they are now \u201cengaged in a new campaign soon on block six with ENI.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Pouyanne added that \u201cI hope we will be able to make some good discoveries for Cyprus in the near the future.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On his part, Mr Christodoulides told reporters that \u201cthe decision of TOTAL to proceed with its plans for Block 6 is a positive development. This is, on the part of the company, a vote of confidence for the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spokesman added that Energy will be one of the issues to be discussed between President Anastasiades and the President of France during their meeting later today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
