Turkish daily Yeni \u015eafak <\/b>newspaper(21.09.18, https:\/\/www.yenisafak.com\/gundem\/mgk-toplantisi-sona-erdi-3396943<\/a>) reports that the Turkish National Security Council (NSC) convened last night under Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In a written statement after the 5-hour meeting, the following reference was made to the developments in the Aegean and the Mediterranean:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Council was briefed on the developments in the Aegean and the Mediterranean and on this issue it was reiterated with determination that the country\u2019s interests and rights will be protected by using all means against the initiatives which aim at the TRNC\u2019s and Turkey\u2019s interests<\/b>\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The statement also noted that the NSC discussed all important internal and external developments regarding the security of the country and mainly the issue of so-called \u201cterrorist organizations\u201d such as FET\u00d6\/PDY, PKK\/PYD-YPG and DEA\u015e, which allegedly threaten Turkey\u2019s \u201cnational unity\u201d. NSC was briefed on the operations held inside and outside the country on this matter. The issue of Syria was also discussed and the importance of the agreement with the Russian Federation for ending the attacks against Idlib was underlined.<\/span><\/p>\n
