The Secretary of State for Transport was entitled to refuse to grant permits to a Turkish airline and travel agent to allow them to operate scheduled and charter flights between the United Kingdom and northern Cyprus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Court of Appeal (Lord Justice Ward, Lord Justice Richards and Sir David Keene) so held, inter alia, when on October 12, 2010, dismissing the appeal of the claimants, Kibris Turk Hava Yollari, a Turkish airline, and CTA Holidays Ltd, its wholly owned subsidiary, from the dismissal by Mr Justice Wyn \u00a0Williams ([2009] EWHC 1918 (Admin)) of their claim for judicial review of the refusal of the Secretary of State for Transport of the airline\u2019s application to vary its operating permit to allow it to carry passengers, baggage and cargo on scheduled services between the United Kingdom and northern Cyprus, and of both their applications for a permit to operate charter flights between the United Kingdom and Ercan airport in northern Cyprus.<\/span><\/p>\n
