Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts discussions between Cyprus – Greece – Israel on current threats posed by terrorism
At their 8 December 2016 trilateral summit in Jerusalem, President Nicos Anastasiades of Cyprus and Prime Ministers Alexis Tsipras of Greece and Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, agreed, in the Jerusalem Declaration, to continue to strengthen cooperation between the three countries towards promoting peace, stability, security and prosperity in the Eastern Mediterranean and more widely.
Acknowledging in particular the grave danger posed by terrorism, both regionally and globally, the three leaders committed their countries to working closer together, and within the international community, to tackle this challenge.
In line with the Jerusalem Declaration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus hosted the first round of such consultations today in Nicosia. Initiating a trilateral dialogue between the relevant expert authorities, delegations from the three countries came together to exchange views, discuss current threats and challenges and explore possibilities for further cooperation.
